With the economy so bad, scams are on the rise. More people than ever are desperate to try anything to make extra money, so it easy to make fake promises and get people to jump on scam.

How do you know if something is a scam? This is the tricky part. The first thing I will say is, if it just doesn’t feel right or sounds too good to be true, walk away. There are thousands of ways to make money from home so there is no reason to get caught up into a scam.

The first thing I would do is search the Internet for any business to find out what others are saying. Do not believe everything you read on the Internet though, just keep doing research until you feel comfortable either way.

The problem is, even infomercial companies are being investigated and are getting shut down because they are actually scams. It is really tough to know what is real or not. You would think something that makes it to TV is real and legit, but that is not true.

Stay away from anything that promises large amounts of money in weeks or months. To make money in any legitimate business, it will take at least a year, less time for network marketing professionals.

You also need to be careful of pyramid schemes. One of the largest pyramid schemes to hit the Internet is cash gifting. This has taken the Internet by storm, as hundreds of thousands of people got caught up in it. It continues to grow because of the ease of generating cash and the amount of people that advocates of it.

There are many multi-level marketing (MLM) programs that are legit. You just have to do your research to make sure you are choosing the right program for you. If you ever have any doubts, feel free to contact me.
